Zelda **SPOILER** Twilight Princess Boss fight #5 Blizzetta

Filed under: Videos, Zelda Videos — Zelda Wii @ 7:54 am

Snowpeak Ruins has been quite a fun adventure!

A new weapon makes an appearance, which hasn’t been in any previous Zelda game.. The Ball and Chain comes in quite handy throughout most of the level as you battle icey monsters! Once you equip the item, Link

swings it around his head to give the ball momentum. As soon as you choose a target with Z-targeting, or pointing the remote at the screen, you can release the ball to cause some serious damage! it’s quite satisfying.

This weapon plays a major role in your final fight against Snowpeak’s Blizzeta. The adorable Yeta has been possessed by the Mirror Shard’s magic. The Yeta is looking into the Mirror Shard and then turns into a giant ice statue at the beginning of the battle.

Hit her with the Ball and Chain as she glides through the room, several times. A good way to attack is to use Z-targeting each time. Eventually she will shrink and then go berserk! She turns into a floating ice statue with spikes surrounding her. The spikes fall down to hit you as you glide across the ice. It becomes tricky as you maneuver on the icy surface dodging the falling ice spikes. If you’re clever, you can see the reflection of spikes in the floor that are floating above and anticipate where they drop.

When the first batch of spikes fall and you’ve successfully dodged them, whip out the Ball and Chain to bust a few of them. The spikes will immediately float back up and then fall, again, in a circular pattern. If you’ve busted one or two, you will be able to exit the circle when they fall. If you didn’t, you will be trapped in the middle of the circle. Blizetta then drops right in the middle of the circle. If you are outside of the circle, you can Z-target and hit her with the Ball and Chain, otherwise you will get hit! Do this a few times and you will defeat her for the third Shard piece. See video below for detail steps:

When the battle is over, you’ll see a short cut scene with Yeta and her lover!

Move over Link, Sonic’s Back!

Filed under: Nintendo Wii, Other Games, Videos — Zelda Wii @ 12:07 am

It is about time our spiky blue friend made an appearance! Before you watch the video below, be assured that this game is well worth the quick read! This all new adventure is exclusively for the Wii, which is a fantastic reason to go out an pick one up! I rented the game to test it out and I am quite impressed by both the graphics and controls. Thanks to Karl, I was able to get this rental for a good price! Although I do still have it and it was due on Wednesday, doh!

The worlds are rich and very detailed- especially in HD! I couldn’t spot any pixelation through my gameplay experience as the frame rates must be high. I would definitely have to give the graphics a thumbs up, considering it is a Sonic game!

The controls are so interactive that it brings the gameplay of Sonic to a whole new level. Sonic is constantly moving forward throughout the game, so it is up to you to navigate him. Simply tilt the Wii remote to the left or right which will move him left or right. If you want to attack, then lock onto an enemy and nudge the remote forward! It’s quite remarkable.

A neat addition to this game is that you can add skills to Sonic as he learns them throughout the game. You collect experience points which increases your character’s level which can open up new skills and hidden secrets in the game. It is very Adventure-RPGish.

I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a Sonic game like this since the original Genesis series. I would definitely go out and buy this one- hopefully a birthday gift or something!

Nintendo Wii Reinventing Web Surfing with Opera

Filed under: Nintendo Wii, Videos — Zelda Wii @ 12:00 am

When you connect the Nintendo Wii you’re able to browse the latest tools and downloads. One of the interesting downloads is the Internet Channel which is currently in beta until it’s official launch later this year. When you’ve connected to WiiConnect24 you’ll be able to quickly download the Internet Channel and have it installed within minutes.

Every time you start your Nintendo Wii you will notice the new channel in your menu - Internet Channel. Browsing the Internet using the Remote is really satisfying as you have control from the comfort of your sofa. This is a great luxury for individuals who want to play games and others who just want to browse the Internet (example: parents and their kids).

The exciting thing about all of this is the fact that Opera works with current web technologies and displays websites quite nicely. There is no need to install third-party plug-ins (like Flash) so surfing becomes easy.
