Nintendo Wii and Games Quick Review

Filed under: Nintendo Wii, Zelda Wii — Ryan Wahl @ 6:13 pm

Hello everyone, my name is Ryan and this is my first contribution to ZeldaWii.com! I’d like to

talk about the extremely amazing Wii! This is honestly one of the best systems ever made! This system has received a lot of mixed thoughts from video gamers and critics, but since its been out for a while now, its become a hit for people of all ages! The majority of comments about the Wii before its release weren’t in favour of the Wii. When the system was released on November 19, 2006 everyone got to try it and it was the funnest system I have ever played!. That was the reaction I had received from a lot of my friends and people that Ive heard from.

The games that came out for it are simply great! All of them look and feel amazing. For example, Zelda, has made the tables turn for Zelda fans and gamers out there. It makes the game play so much more on the Wii than it would be on the Gamecube, especially with a quality TV. To sum the game in a few words: “The greatest Zelda made and will keep you playing for hours at times!” I’m absolutely hooked! I beat it the first time in 43 hours. The second time took me 37 and a half hours. I can’t stop playing it! ha ha

The games that will be coming out really soon for the Wii are going to be a lot of fun for everyone as well! Super Smash Bros!! I can’t believe it. The legacy continues with great new characters and crazy new moves!! That game will also keep people playing for a long time. Overall, the controls for all the games that came out are revolutionary! In the new Ray-Man game, the dancing part was my favorite. The controls for the dancing part is so much fun, it had me playing it for a really long time!! That game was quick and simple and I recommend everyone to get it just for the say of having a fun party game!

If you don’t have a Wii yet and you are considering to get one, GO GET IT!! Its cheap, a lot of fun, and extremely sweet looking! A little hard drive goes along way with games!

The fact that you can buy old school games that everyone in my generation grew up with is so much fun! The Virtual Console allows you to do this quite easily!

The last thing I have to tell you is about the Wii online accessibility! There’s so many things you can do on there: weather, news, the Vote Channel and the shop! You can get up to date news on everything going on in the world from sports to the scientists’ new discoveries! The new Vote Channel is a lot of fun as well! A world-wide poll that asks you simple questions that are fun and thoughtful to answer! You can post your own questions and possibly get them on the Channel for everyone to answer! I know I’ve sent in some questions, have you!?

I hope you’ve enjoyed my great Wii update, review, or even just something to read. This system is the greatest and will be until the next Nintendo creation! If you don’t have one go get it, I highly recommend it!

Kudos to all who have one! Long live Nintendo!

Super Paper Mario is coming out in April!!!

Move over Link, Sonic’s Back!

Filed under: Nintendo Wii, Other Games, Videos — Zelda Wii @ 12:07 am

It is about time our spiky blue friend made an appearance! Before you watch the video below, be assured that this game is well worth the quick read! This all new adventure is exclusively for the Wii, which is a fantastic reason to go out an pick one up! I rented the game to test it out and I am quite impressed by both the graphics and controls. Thanks to Karl, I was able to get this rental for a good price! Although I do still have it and it was due on Wednesday, doh!

The worlds are rich and very detailed- especially in HD! I couldn’t spot any pixelation through my gameplay experience as the frame rates must be high. I would definitely have to give the graphics a thumbs up, considering it is a Sonic game!

The controls are so interactive that it brings the gameplay of Sonic to a whole new level. Sonic is constantly moving forward throughout the game, so it is up to you to navigate him. Simply tilt the Wii remote to the left or right which will move him left or right. If you want to attack, then lock onto an enemy and nudge the remote forward! It’s quite remarkable.

A neat addition to this game is that you can add skills to Sonic as he learns them throughout the game. You collect experience points which increases your character’s level which can open up new skills and hidden secrets in the game. It is very Adventure-RPGish.

I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a Sonic game like this since the original Genesis series. I would definitely go out and buy this one- hopefully a birthday gift or something!

Enjoy the video:

7 Reasons to own a Nintendo Wii

Filed under: Nintendo Wii — Zelda Wii @ 12:00 am

We’ve all heard about this “next generation” console which is supposed to revolutionize the gaming industry. Does Nintendo Wii fall short of its goal or does it obviously exceed it?? I’ve had the Wii for a few months now and I’ve got 7 reasons to own this system!

1. New ControllerNintendo's contents

Nintendo has come to table with a completely new and untraditional controller - the Remote. This wireless “controller” monitors motion and has a pointing sensor for selecting items on the screen. You can now slash a sword or swing a golf club by using the use of the Remote. There is an attachment, the Nunchuck, which connects to the Remote and has motion technology built-in. The primary function of this Nunchuck is the joystick which is situated on the top of the device (of course!).

2. Interactive Games

As mentioned above, you can slash a sword by swinging the Remote as you would swing a sword. The technology in this remote is so advanced and precise that the controls work quite beautifully. Interactive gaming allows the gamer to get closely involved with the progress of the game - the first time in history for a home console.

3. High Definition Gaming

This is Nintendo’s first REAL attempt in providing the gamer with a rich High Definition Experience. Of course, you will need a high definition television to take advantage of this added bonus, but experiencing a game in HD is the ONLY way to play.

4. Photo Channel

Go out and get a SD Card so you can upload your favorite pictures and create a professional slide show. The Photo Channel is a built-in piece of software that allows you to show off, edit and play with your favourite photos!

6. Internet Connectivity

Would a console be complete without the Internet? You can now go online with your Nintendo Wii via LAN, wireless or purchasing a wifi USB connector for your computer. The wireless and LAN are built-in and super easy to use. You can meet others online, surf the internet or get the hottest (older) games from the virtual console!

5. Virtual Console

For a few dollars, you can enjoy your good old favorite games from Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super NES, Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64! Paying for these affordable games isn’t really a sacrifice in order to experience some of those old time favs!

6. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Nintendo Wii’s launch would not be complete without the greatest game ever! If you haven’t had a chance to play or enjoy this game, please check out this quick video and you’ll see why you should play this game and purchase a Wii. If that wasn’t enough to wet your taste buds, you can browse the full listing of Zelda videos.

7. Affordability

With so much fun, online action, HD beauty and interactive gaming, you would think that this is going to cost a ridiculous amount of money! This is no Playstation 3 (retail: $699 CND). This system has a much MUCH higher fun factor and is only $279 (CND). Not to mention that it comes with Wii Sports (8th reason to own a Wii =) which includes: Baseball, Boxing, Golf, Bowling and Tennis. There have been instances were gamers have added 20 minutes of Wii Sports in their daily routine to stay fit and lose weight! One guy reported losing 10 pounds in 6 weeks! They now call it gamercizing, but I call it pure fun!

If those reason aren’t enough to own a Nintendo Wii, then you must not be interested in gaming! Today, you can easily go out and get one because they are in stock and not sold out like that craziness on Launch day!

What do you think, are you ready to take it to the next level and own a Nintendo Wii? Owners, leave your words of support!

Nintendo Wii move aside: Original NES and 670 games selling for half a million!

Filed under: Nintendo Wii — Zelda Wii @ 7:58 pm

***Update: This bid was apparently at $350,000 on January 30th. Bidders are now revoking their bids due to false posting and no communication between them and the seller. Could it be another scam?***
670 NES GamesNintendo Wii puts the user in control over past favorites from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super NES and Nintendo 64. You can easily access the virtual console area on the Nintendo Wii with an Internet connection. It is great to experience and play games from many years ago. You can literally browse through those old favorites from the comfort of your sofa.

For those gamers who were around to experience the NES era may still have their console and games collecting dust. If you’re not one of those gamers then there are easier methods to play these games (online ROM downloads or Nintendo Wii Virtual Console).

Today, this is a third and NEW option, thanks to eBay! There is a posting on eBay for a complete collection of ALL the original NES games (as seen in picture). What would all of this game-goodness cost? Well, bidders believe it will go up to a cool $500,000!! The current bid is around a quarter of a million dollars!

Would someone actually bid for this? Is it a waste of money or a good investment for the future? Perhaps it will be worth 4 times more than what it is today in 5 years. The seller went out and bought each game individually and is now in turn selling them to cash in!!
The seller lists reasons to own his auction.
Top 8 reasons to win this auction:

1) You get EVERY GAME EVER MADE under License
2) ALL 670 games are in Good-to-Mint Condition !!!NES HARDWARE
3) No Permanent markings on ANY of my games
4) No Stickers on ANY of my games
5) Labels are in Good condition
6) Math Fact: If bought individually, 670 games with $3 per game shipping could cost (670 x $3 = $2,010 in shipping alone) My auction comes in several boxes at $385.00 total to ship ALL of them due to the weight and size of these packages
7) I’ve included a NES System and 12 Accessories of equipment to go with it including ROB the Robot, Power Glove, Power Pad, Etc. Read below !
8) No need to use the words RARE & HARD TO FIND in this auction because …. THEY’RE ALL HERE

Do any of you have this kind of money? Click here to see the Ebay listing
