New Nintendo Wii Replacement Wrist Straps for the Remote
There was a big surprise when I arrived home today - a special package waiting for me. It was from Nintendo! Although, they didn’t need to stuff the contents in an over-sized envelope. Seriously, the thing is massive! Inside the package were my replacement wrist straps for my Nintendo Wii Remotes.
I haven’t had any problems with the original wrist straps that came with the system, but I decide to order the replacement straps just in case. I do have nieces and nephews who come over and play, but I should probably be more concerned with my friends as the they are overly aggressive with the motion sensing! When the box, THEY BOX!
Ordering the replacement straps couldn’t have been any easier thanks to Nintendo and the World Wide Web! All you have to do is go to their website and fill out the form. The only proof you have to give them is the serial number to your Nintendo Wii Console and you’re set! You can get up to 4 replacement straps and they ship with free delivery.
Even though I placed my order during the Christmas holidays (December 22), Nintendo was quick to react and ship the order upon receiving them today. Nintendo has committed to replace wrist straps for everyone who bought a Wii. I think Nintendo has sold around 1.8 Units and probably twice as many wrist straps. That’s a lot of money to handle all of this mess.
Since I have new wrist straps I decided to test the strength of the old ones. I unhooked the old ones from the Remote and began to pull as hard as I could and the thing wouldn’t budge. I’m beginning to think that my original straps were perfectly fine. However, the general public didn’t seem to think this was the case and claimed they were defective. This must have been true because Nintendo also did an investigation on the matter.
Nintendo has yet to let me down as they got me the order in 2 weeks! The amount of manpower that was involved in all the shipping and organization of all the orders is incredible. We now know how dedicated and loyal Nintendo is to their consumers (although I’ve known for years). It’s certainly good to know that we can count on Nintendo just like a real friend.
I wonder if any other major player would have done the same thing? I’m sure they would have exercised some fine print on the warranty manual of the product and try to get people to pay for some of the problem - who knows??
