Zelda Wii, was it worth waiting 6 hours for?

Filed under: Nintendo Wii, Zelda Wii — Ganon @ 1:00 am

Some time ago, Rob and I were in Toys R Us and found out that we could pre-order Nintendo Wii, months before its release. After putting it off for a few months, it was certain that I wouldn’t be getting much sleep if I wanted to get my hands on one. I thought that if I’d arrive 2 hours before the stores open I would have no problem snatching one. Oh was I ever so wrong…

Twelve hours before its release ,Rob calls me with some very daunting news. People have started pitching their tents outside of BestBuy! So I take a drive by and start wondering if it’s worth waiting in the frigid cold Canadian weather and potentially loose some fingers and toes. Since the lineup was smaller at Wal-Mart and I knew they would receive more Wii’s, I decided to wait just a tad longer.

Deciding when to start waiting in line was probably the most intense moment of the night. I knew that if I waited too long I would have no chance. So at some point I really got antsy in my pantsy and bolted to Mc’Doogles, wolfed down a Big Xtra, and parked beside the lineup. Now I was waiting in my car for the next person to arrive, I figured why should I step outside if no one else is coming. Mind you the lineup already had 25 or more people so I had to watch for others coming. Exactly 6 hours to release and the cars started rolling in. Jumping out of my car I began waiting in line.Waiting in line for about 6 hours

Most of the people came in groups, since I journeyed out there by myself, I quickly wondered what I’d do for 6 hours. My options were either staring off into space or talking to the people beside me. From the time I started to chat with the guys beside me, time rolled by and the insanity was kept to a minimum.

One hour before launch and there was over 100 people waiting in line. A guy comes out the store to hand out numbered tickets to everyone. Sixty-nine (69) tickets were handed out and I was lucky number 26! Nice.

So far, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is truly a great game. I’m about half way through the first dungeon! Right now, all I can say is wow!

The 6 hour wait was worth it.
